Minden Developments was founded on a simple belief:
Exceptional developments aren't created by chance—they're created through thoughtful decisions, uncompromising standards and a genuine commitment to quality.
Based in Tauranga, in the stunning Bay of Plenty, Minden Developments never set out with the goal of simply building Certified Passivhaus developments.
We set out with a far more important goal—to redefine the standard of exceptional living.
That journey began with a single question:
"What should a truly exceptional development be?"
Growing up, my father was the General Manager of a BMW dealership. From an early age, I was immersed in a world where engineering excellence, premium quality and attention to detail weren't marketing slogans—they were simply the standard.
Watching new BMW vehicles arrive and understanding the craftsmanship, innovation and precision behind them gave me an early appreciation for what a truly premium product looked and felt like.
One conversation has stayed with me since I was a young boy—I asked my father which BMW model was the easiest to sell.
My father smiled and replied: "When you sell a quality product that you understand and believe in, all of them are easy to sell."
That simple conversation became one of the defining lessons of my life.
It taught me that lasting success isn't built on clever sales techniques, or convincing people to buy something—it's built on creating a product of genuine quality, understanding every detail behind it, and having complete confidence in what you're offering.
I lost lost my father to cancer when I was 19 years old, and although my dad never had the opportunity to see Minden Developments come to life, the values he instilled in me continue to guide every decision I make.
My belief in quality, integrity and understanding the product you stand behind became the foundation upon which Minden Developments was built.
As my career progressed, being exposed to different construction methods, materials and levels of craftsmanship, while becoming a Certified Passivhaus Tradesman deepened my understanding of building science and high-performance construction.
Those experiences ultimately led to the creation of The Minden Five™—the decision-making framework built around Health, Performance, Durability, Sustainability and Lifestyle.

Today, Minden Developments combines practical construction experience, internationally recognised Passivhaus knowledge and a philosophy shaped by a lifetime of learning.
